Principal Ambert
My blogs
| Introduction | I am Jennifer Carreon Ambert. I grew up in the Lower East Side of Manhattan and am a product of the NYC public school system, graduating from Dist.1, Dist. 2 and LaGuardia HS of the Arts. I have a Bachelor of Arts Degree in English, a Master of Science Degree in Early Childhood and Elementary Education, a Master of Science Degree (MSEd) in Educational Leadership, as well as a K-12 state license as a school administrator and I am a graduate of the Cahn Fellows Program for Distinguished Principals at TC, Columbia University. I was a teacher in D27, where I piloted the Title 2D Technology Program, ESL push-in model and Balanced Literacy. I was an administrator in D2, shadowing a remarkable principal and was previously the Assistant Principal at PS 206 in Rego Park prior to July 2008. As principal of PS/IS 178Q, I hope to strengthen the home-school connection, improve communication and move all students forward through differentiated instruction. I am a proponent of acceleration and arts programs, as well as sports. I believe every student is an expert at something. It is up to educators to identify what that is and to tap into that knowledge in order to develop other skills. |
