Introduction Lee Wen explore different media, possibilities, strategies of time-based and performance art, often using life experiences and personal dilemmas as initial entries into an artistic journey, recovering memories and remaking mythologies. He had contributed to The Artists Village alternative in Singapore and had actively worked in Black Market international performance collective. He initiated, co-organized “Future of Imagination” (2003), an international performance art event and “R.I.T.E.S.- Rooted In The Ephemeral Speak” (2009), a platform to support and develop performance art practices, discourse, infrastructure and audiences in Singapore. In 2012 he initiated the “Independent Archive and Resource Center”, focusing on art practices and research that benefit from archival support. Awarded Cultural Medallion from Singapore 2005, Performance Studies international (PSi) Artist/Scholar/Activist Award in 2014.

What would you name your ballet inspired by the sight of children leaping through a garden sprinkler?

They evolved together. May Came with April just as much as boys came with girls. Ying and Yang and in history there are always a pair of almost alter egos or a significant other in each and every individual that came into being. JUst like Tu Fu and Li Po the two great Tang Dynasty poets. Or you got Frank Zappa and Captain Beefheart. And in some ways Sigmund Freud and Carl Jung ....
