| Introduction | I'm a mother of 4 beautiful children, and married to a wonder man (God bless him for my craziness). I'm also a veterinarian nurse with a background in animal behavior and training. In 2014 I adopted Hunter, a dog who was returned to shelters over 3 times for all kinds of reasons, and I was told he might never become a family pet. Needless to say I brought him home anyway and he loved his new home, his new family which at the time included 3 kids and 4 cats, lol. For 3 years we were able to give him a wonderful life but unfortunately his high prey drive did get the best of him, he got loose and he passed away, breaking all our hearts. During our grief a 3 week old puppy who had a broken lower lumbar and rear legs was brought in, the breeder wanted to euthanize, but I knew I had to take him in, giving him a chance and so we did, giving us a love of animals both physically and/or mentally broken, now it is our mission. At the end of 2018 I made it official, creating Hunter’s Sanctuary for Paws, a home where these animals can be loved and live their normalcy. Here’s to 17 furry friends and counting.... |
