| Introduction | Hi, I'm Jared. I believe that alternative fuel vehicles should be available to everyone. In the early 1900's the most popular type of vehicle was electric. In 1912 the electric starter was invented. That combined with the inexpensive production lines of Henry Ford and crude oil found in Texas dissolved the electric vehicle's popularity by the 1920's. Over time, we have become a nation addicted to oil. The cost of gas is rising and we are at it's mercy. I, like many other people of this nation, want us to reduce our dependence on fossil fuels and focus on renewable/sustainable power sources. I want to show everyone that they can enjoy inexpensive, cleaner, cooler and quieter transportation. I want to learn to coexist with my environment instead of wasting it. This is not a new idea or a new technology. It's also not a perfect solution. However, I believe it's a step in the right direction. |
