Introduction	We are all firm believers in "waste not, want not". We try to recycle and reuse as much as possible. We rarely throw anything away, as someone may be in need of that very thing. We are striving to be as self-sufficient as possible. We pinch pennies any way we can. We are also very ingrained in the principle of emergency preparedness. We like to help others as much as we can. We live in an area that still believes in the barter system, and neighbors always watch out for one another. The pace is simple and slow--just the way we like it.
