Bats keep the insect population under control, farmers depend on them for pollination of crops, every ecosystem depends on them in one way or another, even modern medicine depends on bats for their contribution to the creation of new treatments and cures! In the last 50 years the bats natural habitat has been compromised by the increase in urban living, by taking away their homes and poisoning their food and water source with the overuse of urban and agricultural pesticides.
