IntroductionI'm John Shamgochian, a double-major in Classics and Anthropology at Colby College. My current hobbies include bluegrass mandolin and reading. I'm especially enthused by conversations that concern the Latin language, religion, veganism, and the Marx Brothers. The lenses of my binoculars have dusted over; I haven't posted on this blog in four years. Looking back at my writings now, I impress myself with the skill I once had. There was a time when fall warblers seemed pretty easy and I didn't need to review any bird books before approaching a flock of terns. Perhaps, someday, the passion that I once had will revive and perhaps this blog with it. But if it does return, it will not have the rude charm of childhood. Please, enjoy the archive of John's Birding Blog. May my attempts at linguistic grandeur, my spelling errors, my silly jokes and strange allusions make you smile.
