Lionesses have no manes. How do they know when they've grown up?
No, I suspect forks were around before spoons. I can imagine cavemen using 2-pronged "forks" to skewer and roast their meat over a fire. I also suspect cavewomen fashioned the first spoon for practicality and efficiency.
