Introduction	I'm a mechanical engineer & I love machines. Particularly machines that move. Cars are my first love. Fiddling, fettling, racing. They are in me. My heart skips a beat when I see what might be a 1973 Porsche 911 RS. But I believe that cars (in their current format) are fast becoming an anachronism. Some clever thinking is needed. My Mom lured me onto the saddle of a bicycle with a toy car. In the process, apart from gaining a Starsky and Hutch Gran Torino, my Mom gave me the key to freedom. Which I think is what bikes are to me. They are the most incredible machines. I love them.
Interests	Bicycles (racing, touring, commuting, building, tech, etc.), motor racing (rally in particular), cars, scrabble, running, music, cats, dogs, theatre (but not too many musicals please).
Favorite movies	The Unforgiven, The Italian Job (Caine), the Bourne Identity
Favorite music	In no particular order: New Order, Blur, Black Kids, Chemical Bros., Mark Knopfler, Dire Straits, Crowded House, Midnight Oil, Third Eye Blind, Depeche Mode, Foo Fighters. Best Album: A Ragpicker's Dream.
Favorite books	I'll rather do by author: Orwell's 1984 (but any Orwell will do). Steinbeck, Greene, Elton, Hemmingway. After that, The Lore of Running (Noakes), Formula 1 Fanatic, Hemmingway (fave there is the Old Man and The Sea).
