| Introduction | Gilberto Partida has been working as a trilingual interpreter (ASL/Spanish/English) in a variety of settings for 8 years. Through his involvement with the SCRID Trilingual Interpreting Committee, Gilberto has helped set up the first two trilingual workshops that were presented here in California as well as workshops for trilingual students. His commitment to the field has led to his involvement in the SCRID Support the Gap committee as well as being the Co-Chair for the Trilingual Interpreting Committee. A few of his contributions have been theTrilingual Interpreting Blog, Trilingual Interpreting Directory and the Support the Gap event. He also participated in the Western Region trilingual Stakeholders committee where he and others brought together trilingual interpreters from the western region of the United States including Mexico for a two day roundtable discussion. Issues affecting trilingual interpreting and the Latino Deaf community were discussed and plans were made on how to improve the field as well as improve services for the Latino Deaf and hearing consumers. |
