Introduction	Former lighthouse keeper, adventurer and amateur ornithologist, taken by the tide back to my native landlocked Midlands. Though retired, I have been commissioned to write up an ornithological research project. I do not spend, however, as much time as I should working on that - my supposed 'masterwork' - and spend perhaps rather too much time either in my garden or perambulating along canals, footpaths and country lanes.
Interests	Walking, gardening, birdwatching, flora and fauna, music, cheese, philosophy, art, drawing, making things.

Favorite books	Bird books, Floras, Maps, Geological field guides, The poetry and prose of Edward Thomas, Dylan Thomas, John Betjeman, Holcroft Adams.
