| Introduction | Faced with a difficult choice, our unwed Korean mother gave up my sister and I for adoption. We were of 'Mixed-Blood', Half-Breeds, despised by Koreans, looked upon with curiosity by others. Life is not always fair, but for us Adoption was the best option, because being HonhyolAh (Mixed) was especially bad in Korea, where 'purity of blood' is a strong Confucian belief. Recently this is slowly changing with the younger generation. We found out our birth father was himself a Mixed-Breed, Apache/Mexican/Spanish. By 1973 the 'children of foreign devils' or TuiGi 튀기 were no longer a handicap or problem. Abortion became readily available-'those children' ceased to be a 'problem'...they were just 'eliminated'. I fight for the rights of ALL involved in the game of Life and Death. I LIVED, and I AM BACK! I am for Balance in This Thing of Ours-Adoption. |
