| Introduction | D E Bowden is interested in painting the intersection of light and lines in nature. She usually paints outdoors from life. Her favorite color is green in about 500 different shades. She has been painting since childhood and was trained at the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston, the DeCordova Museum School, and the Virginia Museum of Fine Arts School. A native Floridian, she chose to live in Virginia because of the beautiful light and landscape. Her strongest artistic influence is Ann Lyne, a contemporary painter from Lexington, Virginia.
