IntroductionW.A.R.P - Word / Art /Rhythm / Performance Hunter Bell (aka Hunt Rx LeBelle)is a spoken word artist, wordsmith, experimental musician (from percussion to severe guitar, power electronics, cosmic drone creator, etc.), sound manipulator and designer, composer, music and film producer, promoter, visual artist (currently focusing on "industrial folk art"), taxidermist, thrift store connoisseur , technological tactician/theorist, creator of sound generators, multimedia journalist, curator, emcee, et. He is also a social and anti-social activist, philosopher, an avid explorer of the human condition, universal religions, spirituality and most especially, an existential extremist. Hunter Bell is a founding member of Portal Dementia, The Hunt Rx LeBelle Experience, khasma, DIAS, Awake and Dreaming, numerous other projects and bands, as well as a collaborator with (and contributor to) various multimedia projects.
InterestsProfessionally, Hunter Bell has worked for numerous nonprofit organizations as a fundraiser and development administrator, PR representative, events manager, editor, consultant, etc., in Alabama for over 18 years. Employers and clients include: 90.3 WBHM Public Radio, Birmingham Civil Rights Institute, Alabama Center for Law and Civic Education, Woodlawn Family Resource Center, City Stages, Sit Tight, the improvisor, Aura Literary Arts Review, as well as many individual artists/musicians. He also founded and produced City Stages Spoken Word Festival, co-founded Birmingham's "Great Poetry Slam," "Spaceship Saturn: Celebrating Sun Ra's Original Arrival," W.A.R.P OmniNetwork, and , co-produced several International improvisor Festivals. His music, visual art and writings have been published in many formats over the past twenty years.
