Introduction I have always had an interest in wildlife and have been birding now for quite a few years. I moved from Chelsea (London) to Cholsey (then Berkshire now Oxfordshire) when I was 9 years old. My main influence was my old Cholsey school headmaster WD (Bill) Campbell. As well as being head of Cholsey School he was a well known ornithologist nationally. He fostered my interest in wildlife and my inquisitive nature. I have travelled fairly widely on a global scale (ex Royal Navy) and in the 80’s I got into twitching and travelled a lot of the UK in search of rare birds. I have been birding the Cholsey area since the early 1970’s and since moving back to Cholsey from Wallingford (interestingly enough, to my old school site) I have focused more on local birding and wildlife especially in Cholsey and Oxfordshire. As well as Birds I have an interest in all other aspects of Natural History and the Environment.
