Introduction	I hail from a Borax mining town in the Mojave Desert, where I grew up with NASA astronauts. Graduating with Honors from California State University, Sacramento, I hold a BA in Theatre Arts & Dance, specializing in Afro-Caribbean and Modern. In Sacramento, I also excelled in the beauty industry working at a pilot Victoria's Secret store; I specialized in beauty consultations and wardrobe styling. In Manhattan, I worked in sales and as a certified trainer/technician for Apple, Inc. at West 14th Street. My teaching specialized in Desktop Publishing and Social Media. May 2014, I will graduate with a MA in Deaf/Elementary Education from Gallaudet University in Washington, DC. I specialize in bridging the arts with STEM curriculum.

When you open your eyes underwater, do you ever worry that you'll drown?

I usually worry that my eyes will burn. I'd much rather swim with my eyes closed and focus on sensing the water-world around me.
