| Introduction | These are the ramblings and stories of our lives. "Our" being my husband, Jared, and myself, Christine. Together, we're the Girkles.
We met in Chicago, Illinois in 2007 where we were both living at the time. A year later, we started talking about making a few changes in our lives. One of them being moving to Canada - Vancouver to be specific. (Jared is Canadian so it's not too much of a leap.) And the more we talked about it the more we realized this was the way to go. (Albeit scary and full of logistical crap.) So we started planning and figuring out how we'd make our way there. After a year of getting our stuff together, selling off a big chunk of our belongings (including our home and car), figuring out how to get me licensed as a Canadian lawyer, hooking up new jobs, getting married, and then packing up everything we owned and living with friends and family for several months...we have FINALLY done it. Landed. In Canada. Vancouver, to be exact. Over the border. And now what? Well, that's kinda what this is all about. |
