IntroductionMy earliest influences that shaped my ideology came from my parents and growing up in 1960s and 1970s Texas. During this time, the state was dominated by the Democratic Party . I was raised a "Yellow Dog Democrat" and came to identify with the Democratic Party . My father was true yellow dog democrat. My mother is also liberal in her thinking. I have consistently exercised my right to vote since 1982 when I voted for President. I was still in high school when I voted for the first time. Serving my country for many years in military uniform, this more than anything has truly shaped my beliefs. I have seen the benefits, the mistakes, and the costs of US Foreign Policy with my own eyes. I have earned my "Rights" and will continue to exercise them. I'm taking this class because it's a requirement for my bachelors degree. I want to get out of this class is a better understanding of workings of the national government. I did better on the current events quiz but so on the pop culture quiz.
