Introduction Dr. Bessie House is a nationally recognized leader, advocate, and expert on entrepreneurship and economic development in the United States. She is also an entrepreneur herself, having established several for-profit and non-profit business enterprises. She is also an award-winning author and poet, television show host, dynamic public speaker, professor, administrator, and inventor. She is the President and CEO of the National Center for Entrepreneurship, Inc., which is a national and regional collaborative of business centers whose main objective is to promote entrepreneurial efficacy and economic growth all across this country. She is also the Executive Director and Founder of the Center for the Study and Development of Minority Businesses at Kent State University. The purpose of the Center is to promote economic self-sufficiency and minority entrepreneurship in the United States. The Center realizes its’ mission by performing original research on numerous factors that affect the economic outcomes of minority entrepreneurs in the economic marketplace. The Center also provides customized business training classes to minority entrepreneurs.
