| Introduction | I lived in Southeast Alaska for over 30 years. I raised two wonderful boys while working in the mental health field. When work became unbearable and my boys grew into young men, I decided to give up the home front and begin my much desired lifestyle of travel and discovery. Eight years ago, I bought a 1990 Westfalia (volkswagen camper van). My boys and I have taken several road trips through British Columbia and the western states. They aren't the camping and hiking enthusiast that their mother is and over the years they've lost interest in joining me on yet another adventure. That's when I became friends with solo travel. Although a bit frightening at first, I found I love the vulnerable side of discovery and adventure. Leaving what is secure and known for the unknown. Self discovery, that funny little thing that happens in the quiet hours of the day, or on the road side somewhere in Wyoming facing a gas gauge on empty, or resting atop Angels Landing in Zion on the anniversary of your mother's death, is an amazing gift. |

The love potion you made tastes terrible. How will you drink it?
infused with a rich tawny port or a dark luscious sherry.
