Introduction A young sculptor and filmmaker from Westhampton Beach, NY, Hunter Herrick currently lives in Brooklyn, NY. He divides his time between creating sculptures, experimental films and working in the freelance film and television industry as a cinematographer and gaffer. Hunter's sculptural work is in steel and found objects. His film work spans dramatic narrative, documentary, and experimental genres in 8 mm, 16 mm, and video. He also combines the moving image with sculpture and live music. The Southampton Press and Hamptons.com have described his work as “elegantly foreboding” and “[of a] tactile rawness.” Hunter graduated from American University in Washington, DC in 2007 with a BFA in film and media arts. In 2005 – 2006 he studied cinematography at FAMU in Prague, Czech Republic while mentored by Henry Hills, a famed NYC experimental filmmaker and editor.
