| Introduction | Greetings! 2013 marks my 10th year as a teacher, naturalist, and gardener working for San Mateo Outdoor Education. This year, I'll be doing my second BIG GREEN BIG YEAR, using no fossil fuels in order to see as many bird species as possible. Last time I did one was in 2011 and I saw 276 species while riding probably around 2500 miles. This year I hope to see a few more! 300 species seems like a nice challenging goal.
