| Introduction | I have never really considered myself much of an athlete, and certainly never one to enter a marathon. But on September 6th 2009 I will be race walking my very first half marathon. Luckily I will not be doing this alone, I will be joined by my team mates from Team in Training. I am very lucky to have trained coaches to help me train for this event. I have pledged to raise at least $4000.00, to help stop leukemia, lymphoma, Hodgkin lymphoma and myeloma from taking more lives. I am completing this event in Memory of Andy James, a very special young man who fought the hard battle of Leukemia. Unfortunately chemotherapy was the battle his body could not take. This by far has been the hardest thing I have ever done, Challenging maybe, but not as tough as the personal battle of fighting cancer. I am starting this blog as a way to track my own progress, and also to solicit support and feedback from my friends as I pass on the message of hope that The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society promotes.
