| Introduction | I began my life career as a Southern Baptist minister, got my BA in philosophy at Louisiana College in Pineville, LA and completed a Th.M. at New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary. After seminary, I enrolled in the Ph.D. philosophy program at Vanderbilt University from where I received my MA (1969) and Ph.D.(1974) in philosophy. I moved to Charleston, SC in the summer of 1969 where I began full-time teaching at The College of Charleston (www.cofc.edu), and I began and built from the ground up the first philosophy program at The College. I left the ministry while in graduate school and left Christianity in 1970. I retired from teaching in 1995. |
