| Introduction | I haven't, I'm afraid, made a great personal contribution to our national life. I had an excellent education, mainly in the sciences. It's not been used a great deal, though I'm assured that education is 'never wasted'. It's made me appreciate good things - interesting ideas, great art and , of course, good books. I love reading and admire those talented and hard working enough to keep us all entertained. |
