| Introduction | I,Chef Loren Holly AKA Kimo am the owner of Kimo's Akamai Catering. I was born in the Monument Valley, Utah on the Navajo Reservation. I was born into a native American family but adopted and raised in a Polynesian culture and values. My education started in Montezuma Creek, Utah in primary school. I am a proud alumni of Kahuku High School where I graduated in 1990. I started my college education at Brigham Young University Hawaii. While at BYU-Hawaii. I had the opportunity to work with Chef Simi Niumatalolo and Chef Emily Kaopua who were such a great influence on my career. I continued to work in food service while being at UH Manoa. I have worked under other great chefs who convinced me to go to culinary school. I was convinced that cooking was my passion and talent. I fell in love with cooking even at young age of 9 and it just continued into my adult life. Then become a chef and the rest was history. I always say that " I enjoy what I do as a chef, expecially love to see my clients be happy with the food and service that we had provided for them. That's the kind of response that makes it exciting and worth sharing our passion with them. |
