Introduction | Welcome to my blog! Let me introduce myself. My name is Lisa, and I was born and raised in the hills of southeastern Kentucky. I grew up along the banks of Station Camp Creek in Estill County not far from where my ancestors settled well before the Civil War. After I married, we moved to the same old farmhouse (said to have built around 1840!) where my great-grandparents raised their family. We've lived here for more than 40 years! My hubby and I now have two grown daughters and five grandkids. I'm the former editor of our local weekly newspaper, but I've considered myself a writer since childhood. Reading and daydreaming have ALWAYS been two of my favorite things to do. My husband and I keep a small herd of cattle and a few donkeys here on the farm. We do a lot of gardening, and our specialty is tomatoes, which we sell from the farm and to a few businesses in town. Our favorite night out is a "Mule" (Kawasaki side-by-side) ride around the pasture followed by a wienie roast by the creek. We live simply, but our life is beautiful-and for that I'm thankful to the good Lord, from whom all blessings flow! |
