Introduction | A long-time talmid of Rav Moshe Meiselman who got fed up with the misinformation in the blogosphere about the legitimacy of Nattan Slifkin's new theology. I was not personally involved in the ban, but I have the following personal connections to many people involved in this controversy which makes things very interesting. I spent quality time with Rabbi Slifkin when we were in our early 20's. We were members of a small group that hiked the north for three days from "sea to sea" and shared positive, memorable experiences. I was a ben bayis at the home of Rav Aryeh Carmell Z"L at around the same time (17-20 yrs old) and deeply appreciated his outlook at the time and became an avid reader of Rav Dessler. Later, I started listening to lectures in Ohr Someach and became well aquainted with the circle of Rav Moshe Shapiro and his school of thought. I attended his weekly shiur for five years and now read his sefarim "Afikei Mayim" with a deep appreciation of his penetrating insights. Oh, and I like to do kiruv as well. |
