| Introduction | The Madwomen's Book Club was born over margaritas in the summer of 2010. After a summer of beach-reading and book-swapping, we decided we wanted to continue the like-minded literary conversations. The problem: we live in six different cities across three different states. And thus, The Madwomen's Book Club was born. Taking our cue from Gilbert and Gubar's book "The Madwoman in the Attic: The Woman Writer and the Nineteenth Century Literary Imagination," we've borrowed our nom de plumes from some of our favorite literary "madwomen." |
