What reason do you have to believe the earth is flat?
An infinite line parallel to the tangent of the Earth's curve, and of zero distance from the origin of said tangent, followed for half the diameter of the Earth, would be half the diameter of the Earth higher than the origin point of the tangent, hence, indicating that Earth is spherically curved. This can be proven with an aircraft equipped with a laser.
