| Introduction | I met my husband, Jason, in the course of youth ministry together at Park Crest. In July 2006, Jason was hired as the pastor for the middle school youth group where I was already a volunteer. That summer, the youth went to Worlds of Fun, and on the trip we ended up in the same van. We talked the whole way up to Kansas City and spent most of the day together. I was about to leave for Europe for an entire semester, so we figured anything that happened that day would dissolve while I was gone. But while I was overseas, we emailed back and forth almost every day. What started as conversations about the youth group almost always turned into something else. When I came home that December, it was only a few days before Jason asked permission from my dad to ask me out. A year and a half later, we were married. Now, we're living an abundant life, ministering together as youth pastors, and very much enjoying being husband and wife. Our son Caleb was born in May 2010. He brings joy to our family, and we can't imagine our lives without him! |
