| Introduction | I work at the Union County Conservation District, as an Agriculture Conservation Technician. I help farmers receive/spend as much federal and state funding as we can, to help solve problems of soil erosion, water quality and animal health. My primary area of interest is livestock farming. Charles works on the farm. In 2007, the farm received over $100,000 in cost-share funding through federal and state cost-share. It's Charles's job to get the work done. His primary area of interest is fixing things that are broken - the tractor, implements, barns, fences, etc, etc. Under my Farm Girl label, I sell free-range eggs at our local farmers' market, Country Fresh, in Sturgis and Morganfield. I produce value-added products that sell there, too, such as pickles, relishes, jams and jellies. We're also three years into our one-year house building project. But this is the year! I started writing this blog because Charles's mother has become really involved in researching family history and she keeps finding more and more relatives all over the world. This way I can update one site that everyone can see whenever they want to. |
