| Introduction | I am an architect, currently living and working in New York City, born in Cordoba, Argentina 31 years ago. I started drawing at the age of seven inspired by the incredible drawings by Roberto Fontanarrosa which I found in my dad’s large collection of comic books. The first graphic genre I embraced as a kid was comic cartoons. After a couple of years, I managed myself, with the constant support of my most loyal fan, my dad, to start to publish in several local comic magazines. By those years, I could only imagine my years to come as a comic/cartoon illustrator. Nevertheless, at the age of 17, the contextual particularities of my country, along with several conversations I had with my dad led me to make a decision: I would become an architect, as he was. Although at home one could “breath” architecture 24 hours a day, a new world suddenly opened up to me since the very first moment I entered school: architecture as a completely unexplored graphic realm. Since then, my relation to drawings has been mainly through architecture. A very self demanding person, I am still waiting for that “perfect” illustration, and committed to the endless search of an own personal style. |
