Gender Male

Introduction Formerly Chief Software Architect for the US National Radio Astronomy Observatory (NRAO), where I worked on the Green Bank Telescope (GBT) primarily in areas of usability and data reduction. At one point, some of my data-reduction software had even worked its way over to the Stanford Linear Accelerator Center (SLAC), but that was years ago and I don't know its present status. Currently Executive Consultant for End-to-End Data Operations, also for the NRAO, where I spend my time worrying about astronomical data archiving and virtual observatories. In previous lives, I was Lead Programmer for Sinister Games, Technology Evangelist for Stingray Software, and I worked on Microsoft Operations Manager. I write software for libraries because it needs to be done.
