Introduction | NEIL DAVID SCHNALL has performed and toured as piano recitalist, chamber musician, vocal, choral and instrumental accompanist, music director for opera, cabaret and musical comedy, and as operatic tenor. He majored in music history and theory at NYU, and received piano training privately from Philip Feinne, Bernice Edelman, Helen Lanfer, and Louise Curcio, and voice training from Dan Merriman. Having studied Lieder-accompaniment in Vienna, he served as vocal coach and studio accompanist there, and was accompanist for private lessons taught by mezzo-soprano Christa Ludwig in Paris, Vienna, and Canary Islands. In 1993, he was musical director for Free To Be You And Me by the City Lights Youth Theatre at City Center, and that year became Music Director of OperaSpectives. He accompanied the NYU Choral Alumni at the gala anniversary concerts in 1993, 1998, 2003 and in 2008. Currently a vocal instructor, he is a frequent adjudicator for scholarship competitions. |
