| Introduction | Hello! My name is Rachel Bowers. I am a senior at the University of Tennessee. I am majoring in Child and Family studies with a concentration in Early Childhood Education PreK-3. I will be graduating with in undergrad in May and will begin graduate school in June. I will be interning for my masters in Early Childhood Education during the 2010-2011 school year. I have had several opportunities to work and gain experience with young children. I have volunteered at Head Start, a low-income preK government program. I also worked as a student worker at the UT Early Learning Center for two years. I worked with infants, toddlers and pre-schoolers. I engaged in two different practicum experiences at the UT Early Learning center including working in a toddler and pre-school classroom. This past summer, I completed my Pre-K student teaching in a toddler classroom at the UT Early Learning Center. I also had the opportunity to do Apple Corps at Christeberry Elementary in a second grade class. Currently I am doing my pre-internship at Beaumont Elementary in a second grade classroom. I am very excited to begin my internship next year! |
