IntroductionI'm a retired submarine sailor. I spent some time providing business management consulting and now while away the days as a human resources project manager which requires me to travel frequently. (Hope this explains the fairly frequent gaps in my posting.) I'm quite traditionally conservative in most values, though very libertarian in my thoughts on how little the Government should insert itself in my life and rights. I think the Federal Government should exist primarily to mediate disputes between state governments and to provide for the common defense. Anything above that is abuse of power and just costs me out the wazzoo in taxes.
InterestsMy relationship with God, my family, art, sports, teaching, finding humor in all things, even those that are painful.
Favorite moviesSleuth, Anything by Mel Brooks, Rat Race, Any of the Harryhausen animated movies, Most comedies, Most action movies, The occasional horror flick - especially the old gothic classics with Karloff, Chaney, Price, etc., Most sports movies, and the occasional western.
Favorite musicMainly Contemporary Christian, Easy Listening, Jazz, R & B, Swing, SKA, C & W (occasionally), Classical, Pretty much anything other than Rap or Opera (Rap usually has filthy lyrics and I don't speak the languages opera is usually sung in, though the music is beautiful).
Favorite booksBible, Hitchhiker's Guide to the Universe, Classics (got a personal library of them), Most science fiction, All of the sophmoric (sometimes moronic) joke collections), Spy novels, And anything that is sardonic towards the politically left or extreme right fringe.

That can't really be a fish you're standing on, can it?

Most of the time it would be an octopuss; they're MUCH more stable.
