| Introduction | Though I've traveled the eastern U. S. somewhat extensively, I have lived my entire life in south Central Kentucky... very close to the foothills of the Appalachian mountains. More than anything, I think this sense of place has shaped my worldview to reflect the concerns of my region. I am a former broadcast reporter and current adjunct English Instructor at Eastern Kentucky University, where I also earned a Master's Degree in the English Language.
