Introduction After theatre training (Guildhall) I trained as a drama teacher and spent many years teaching in Hackney, east London. I continued to develop my theatre skills as a regular contributor to Chat’s Palace Community Theatre in Hackney. A mid-life shift found me studying for a sociology degree with the OU. I followed this up with an MSc at the University of Bristol, then a PhD in 2015. All the while I ran schools’ workshops at Bristol Museum which included the development of actor/character work. Between 2019 – 21 I have been employed as an actor on 1000 Witches, a collaboration between Bristol University’s history department and arts practitioners. Bristol has afforded me great opportunities to re-skill as an actor / theatre maker: Diverse Artists' Network, Bristol Meisner and Theatre West, the latter awarding me dramaturgical support for my script Age Queer under their 2021 scheme for women writers. I have served as the lead on Bristol City Council’s DIY Artists' Network Equality and Inclusion sub-group, as a Theatre Bristol agent and am a trustee of Travelling Light Theatre. I am a member of Equity and Bristol Old Vic Artists' Forum.
