| Introduction | I'm a lifelong community activist living in Memphis, TN. I run a custom woodworking business in North Memphis where I use my own sawmill to cut lumber from city trees that would otherwise go to the dump. I use this wood to build unique furniture, cabinetry and commercial millwork. My wife is a certified Midwife and has helped numerous parents enjoy healthy, self empowering births in their own homes throughout Memphis. She is also an herbalist, specializing in the use of native plants. We had two children ourselves in our own bed, after which I traded some Walnut cabinets to a local doctor for an environmentally sustainable vasectomy. Our children attend Memphis City Schools and we own a home and commercial shop in North/Midtown Memphis. We are thus acutely aware of the issues facing the City of Memphis. We believe in "walking the talk" and Live Simply and naturally on a very small income but live a rich life of music, natural foods, outdoor activity and artistic creativity. |
