| Introduction | I am a born-Punekar, completed my schooling in Bhave School, Marathi-medium school in Sadashiv Peth. B.Sc. with CBZ in 1968, M.Sc. in 1970, did research for a Ph.D. in Biochemistry for four years. Left Biochemistry for ever and took up Physics / Chemistry in June 1975 in a jr. college in Pune, retired on 01 Sept, 2005. However, for about 40 years I am working on global and chronic problems in learning and hence teaching Newtonian mechanics - usually taught at the SSC / HSC level. I have come to the conclusion that the present way of teaching circular motion is logically faulty and this one of the reasons WHY physics is unpopular though Einstein is popular. I was put in my field of interest by my Guru, Sir John Kendrew and had very exciting and fruitful discussions with two Nobel laureates Martin Perl and Walter Kohn. My photos with them are in the photo archives of the American Institute of Physics, New York. |
| Interests | I am interested in issues concerning science and society and, of course, economy. |
| Favorite movies | Movies of Raj and Shammi Kapoor. |
| Favorite music | Songs of above movies, Shankar-Jaykishan are my most favourite music composers. I am listening and studying simultaneously from my Std. VIII. Physics like petrol and music is like oil which are present in the fuel tank. |
| Favorite books | A short history of nearly everything - by Bill Bryson. I don ot like novels. |
