| Introduction | I am an older, married woman. I am, believe it or not, at this age, coming into my own. Sadly, I don’t think I am alone. I know many women my age who are awakening to their own selves beyond the expectations of the culture, both societal and Christian. Most of us have spent of Christian lives living in the shadow of a male-dominated spirituality without even knowing it. Many of us have spent the majority of our lives having our voices silenced or our gifts shelved. I and a few of my friends – both men and women, are venturing outside to see what the world of our culture, our spirituality, our integrity, and vulnerability looks like beyond the evangelical walls. This journey requires courage…and you’re invited to come along. |
