| Introduction | I'm passionate about food, education, and community-building. I read constantly--novels, essays, magazines, newspapers, billboards, the backs of cereal boxes, anything, really. I started this blog while I was living in San Francisco and getting increasingly discouraged by the cutthroat competition for jobs, particularly for entry-level jobs in the nonprofit world. Finally, I landed a job in my hometown of Austin and moved back. One amazing year later, I've made the tough decision to move on and start job search 2.0. Stay tuned... |

| Favorite Music | Ryan Adams, Jenny Lewis, The Black Keys, Johnny Cash, HEM, Marvin Gaye, Neko Case, Willie Nelson, Fleet Foxes, Emmylou Harris, Los Lobos, mix CDs from friends, and occasional infusions of whatever's playing on the Top 40. |
| Favorite Books | Well, I was an English major, so this is always tough. But let's start with these: Pride and Prejudice, Lonesome Dove, Red Sky at Morning, Ulysses, Pnin, How We Are Hungry, Middlemarch, Year of Magical Thinking, All the King's Men. And then everything I've read by Ann Patchett, Wallace Stegner, Michael Pollan, Tracey Kidder, Michael Chabon, Alice Munro, Elizabeth Kolbert, and Anne Fadiman. Also cookbooks, New York Times movie reviews, Gourmet, The New Yorker, and any publication from 826 National. |
