IntroductionI'm a native of Paulding County, Georgia, educated at Shorter College and New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary, and have spent the last thirty five years on a most wonderful journey to become more like Christ, something that is difficult & frightening to accomplish. I'm the dad of three neat kids, none of whom are alike. Then there are the three cats but they don't count if I can't deduct them for tax purposes. Personally, I think it is closer to the heart of God to have honest questions of doubt, than it is to be lost in cold, dead orthodoxy. I believe Jesus smiled and laughed a lot, much to the chagrin of many Baptists, of whom no one would recognize without their scowl. Do some Baptists now dunk folks in vinegar? I believe the first phrase of the first amendment is important enough to do something worthwhile to protect it. I believe it is easier to fight for freedom than to live up to its principles. We are only free if we allow others to say & believe those things we find abhorrent. And there is that special lady I just can't get over, even after all these years.
