| Introduction | On December 6 2000 we received the most devastating news a family can hear. Marty, beloved son,brother,husband - my dear cousin had been shot and killed. The newspaper article read "Our Son, Murdered for A Joy Ride" Six hours after Marty was slain police spotted his stolen car and apprehended 17 year old Derick Ford already in violation of a custody order, already a convicted felon. He is now serving a life sentence without parole. "It's a sad story, like so many I know" |
