| Introduction | Early 1993, I started my career as press officer of Sabena, the Belgian flag carrier. In May 1996, I joined Distrigas (now Fluxys) as Public Relations Manager. Less than a year later, I was recruited as Chef de Cabinet to the Governor of Antwerp. My contingency skills were put to good use as the province was marked by more disasters in those three years than in the 30 previous years. In early 2000, I joined the new management team of Virgin Express, the Belgian low-cost carrier of Richard Branson. The airline needed a radical turnaround, as the company’s reputation had suffered badly at the end of the Nineties. The management team succeeded in turning the tide. In 2004, Yves received the Man of the Year Award from the Aviation Press Club. And through April 2006, I was responsible for the corporate communication and reputation policy of carrier. Early 2005, I founded Panneels & Partners, a consultancy specialising in reputation management and media relations. |
