| Introduction | Jay Maurer's Movie Reviews Jay Maurer, a member of Pacific Beach Community Church (Pacific Beach, WA) and Grace Bible Church (Sun City, AZ), is a long-term film buff and former college teacher of The Film as Literature. He wrote movie reviews for The Good News, a publication of West Side Presbyterian Church in Seattle, WA, from 2002 to 2010 and has continued writing reviews on his website since then. Ratings are expressed in increments of ¼ star. A rating of 2 ½ stars or higher is generally meant to be a recommendation. 1 star = poor. 2 stars = average. 3 stars = quite good. 4 stars = superb.
