| Introduction | From an early age I had a desire to write. I would scribble stories, poems and plays and then co-erce my friends to take roles. At junior school my first (and last) major production was staged. The audience was the entire school, including the parents. I think that there were at least a million of them present, which was rather alarming, especially as the acoustics were a challenge. My childhood was lost in books. I would read anything from Dickens to the backs of cereal packets. I started to write creatively in 2006 when I joined a Writer's Workshop in Spain. It made a change from writing editorials and business manuals. With the encouragement of my Literary Amigos, I wrote a series of short stories, travel memoirs and my first novel, Tea at Sam's, which was published in the autumn of 2011. |
