| Introduction | My name is Karen Couturier. I have cooked for many years (since ive been on my own) learned some awesome southern traditional foods from my Grandmother (miss you Granny) before she passed. I also learned from my Mom, Aunt and anyone I could. I was a young cooking sponge. I battled obesity for years and had Gastric Bypass surgery to lose almost 200 lbs. I sometimes regret it only becuase I love to cook and eat so much, BUT now I think I really savor what i have to eat and enjoy it rather than just eating to be eating. Gourmet ingredients are great things now for me. I would love to someday have a cookbook of my own or maybe even a cooking show. I love Ina Garten (Barefoot Contessa on Food Network), as well as Paula Deen and many various other cooks. I was encouraged to do a "food blog" becuase of my love for cooing and recipe creation. I guess we will see where this might take me someday. Im hopeful to have a life of some sort outside of just Army Aviation wife (hubby has been in for 23 years now and crewchiefs BlackHawk Helicopters)and I will soon have not two, but three young children! (Im due in January 2008 with #3) |
