| Introduction | I began my career in income property finance in 1979, and have been lucky enough to be in the front lines when rates spiked in the late 1970's, the S&Ls imploded in the mid-1980's, Southern California tanked in the early 1990's, the Northridge earthquake rocked LA in 1994, residential Lower Manhattan vacated after 9/11, and Katrina depopulated New Orleans in 2005 (not to mention other lesser or more private real estate fiascos). Since 1990 I have held senior workout, underwriting, and credit positions at a number of major financial institutions.
